What we are looking for: We are seeking a highly experienced and organized Tuning Shop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our ski and snowboard workshop. This role is responsible for managing the equipment servicing process, overseeing a team of technicians, maintaining workshop machinery, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and operational skills to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency in all tuning shop activities. Duration: October 1, 2025, to May 15th, 2026 (Year-round is available) Job Type: Full Time Hourly Rate: $27.00 - $32.00 (Based on Experience) Qualifications: 5+ years of quality management experience with ski/snowboard tuning knowledge. Experienced leader with a background in managing complex and multi-channel environments, known for delivering strong financial results and ensuring operational excellence Strong organizational and delegation skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during peak season. A proactive and calm problem-solver, capable of making sound decisions and navigating challenges with confidence and professionalism Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace) and scheduling systems Passion for creating inclusive, people-first environments that support employee growth, collaboration, and long-term retention. Proficiency in using manual and CNC tuning equipment. Knowledge of DIN standards and certified binding testing procedures. Valid driver’s license (for occasional driving duties). Adjust and mount ski bindings to industry standards based on skier profiles (weight, ability, boot type), and conduct certified release testing. Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment for both rental and customer gear. Assemble new equipment and prepare it for rental circulation. Ensure all equipment leaving the workshop meets 100% quality standards. Staff Management: Lead, schedule, and delegate tasks to a team of up to four to five workshop technicians. Conduct training and onboarding for new staff members. Monitor team performance, promote safety, and ensure a healthy, efficient work environment. Act as keyholder; responsible for opening and closing the workshop. Machine & Inventory Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on tuning machines, including cleaning, calibration, fluid changes, and part replacement. Monitor and manage workshop supply inventory and rental fleet equipment. Operate and maintain accurate computerized inventory systems. Customer Service & Retail Support: Consult with customers regarding tuning and repair needs, providing expert recommendations and support. Review and update work orders with accurate service records and notes. Assist on the retail floor when needed, offering product support and enhancing the customer experience. Occasionally support operations as a van driver or in other areas of the business as required. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service quality within the workshop.
