Program Overview The Surf Instructor Program with Aotearoa Surf is an internship program designed to provide aspiring surf instructors with the skills and experience they need to become successful instructors. The program is designed for individuals who are surfers or want to learn to surf, are passionate about the ocean, love teaching and want to benefit from getting the qualifications and experience to become surf instructors! Program Details The program is a 3-month internship that provides participants with hands-on training and experience in all aspects of surf instruction. Interns will work closely with experienced instructors, achieve formal training and certification and will have the opportunity to teach surf lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Whats Included? Participate in an internal induction program to learn about Aotearoa Surf's mission, values, and culture Receive personal surf lessons with Senior Instructors to improve their own surfing skills. Complete a module-based surf instructor learning program and achieve various milestones and certifications Receive International Surfing Association Level 1 training and certification, valued at $600 NZD Complete a First Aid - Level 1 course, valued at $210 NZD Have daily on-location learning through surf lessons, camps, and programs During the program, interns will also have the opportunity to work and socialise with the Aotearoa Surf team, become part of the local community and learn about NZ and experience local surfing & NZ culture. Accommodation & Food: Accommodation and food are not included in the internship program, however can be added at an additional small cost The accommodation provided is glamping-style camp accommodation at alongside Aotearoa Surf's school camps. The accommodation includes a commercial kitchen, bathrooms, internet access, and more. Additionally included, interns will receive a $100 per week (total $1200) supermarket account for purchases of their desired food choices. Job Guarantee: All interns are guaranteed a job interview with Aotearoa Surf after the 3-month internship program, including direct access to apply for a role at our sister surf school in Cornwall, England. Interns are given absolute first priority to all employment opportunities
