Harry is the best presenter on the Lipped Podcast which does long-form interviews, and panel discussions about the wonderful world of surfing. Harry surfed in the 2019 Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro and he’s currently working for Rip Curl in Bali.
One thing I forgot to mention in the podcast was the fifth essential item people must have to work as a surf instructor in Australia: a valid working visa. Here’s a link to the official Australian Government website.

- Working With Children Check. WWCC. for the state you will be working in.

- ISA or Surfing Australia instructor certification. See this page.
- First Aid with resuscitation certification. This should be obtained by completing a course with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

There is a big shortage of surf instructors in Australia and the peak hiring time is in the Spring.
