See You Next Season

Crystal Mountain Resort profile.

This post is being written in late August 2022 and it looks like we are getting a third La Nina season in a row. That means tons of snow for Crystal Mountain in Washington State’s Cascades.

2600 acres, 11 lifts and an average of 486 inches a year are serious stats.

11% beginner, 54% intermediate and 35% advanced or extreme terrain makes Crystal a great mountain to develop your skills over a season. With so much snow, it’s often a long season too. Last year Crystal Mountain had bonus weekends right through to June 12!!

Crystal is 2 hours from Seattle making it an easy mountain to get to from pretty much anywhere. There’s on and off mountain employee housing and the views of Mt Rainer are ridiculous.

Crystal is an Alterra mountain and employees get  free access to Alterra Mountain destinations during time off. That’s summer and winter. Yes you can ski at any Alterra mountain with your employee pass.

This coming season Crystal Mountain has limited Ikon pass holders to 7 days skiing at the resort. This will ensure the resort won’t be getting crazy busy. There will be ample opportunities for employees to get “paid in powder” on their days off.

Given the likelihood of serious amounts of snow this coming winter, putting Crystal Mountain in the “destinations you want to work”  section on your employee profiles makes sense.
